In the previous section, I highlighted some examples of what students can do as far as learning experiences. Here is a list of more activities:
1. Trip to school library to find books on animals & write about the book.
2. Worksheet on grouping animals into the correct category.
3. Trip outside the school building to see what animals are in sight and take notes on them.
4. Watch the movie "Chimpanzee."
5. Write a paragraph about your favorite animal and describe the animal's characteristics.
6. Test on the information learned in class.
7. Make a chart of all things in common and all differences between the 3 groups of animals discussed.
8. Make lists of animals that have back bones, all animals that have scales, and all animals that have fur.
9. Watch the movie Disney's "Ocean" to introduce another group of animals: fish.
10. Writing assignment: favorite thing learned in the unit and what do you want to know more about?
